GnR had one good album. Somebody brought all that "November Rain" shit into the gym a coupla weeks a ago and it is absolutely cringe-inducing, it is so embarrassing. If all the members had died in a fiery crash after Appetite, they would be gods...

lies measures up to anything the who put out. rock could have stopped with let it bleed and been fine. one has to figure out their own kinda superlatives, of course subject to change, at one time or another just to move on to some other set of ideas. i'm comfortable with let it bleed being mine. sorum was never early adler, he was a component. when izzy went back to his dad's house in indiana never to return after lies and coming up with half of the two discs, the band was more or less stillborn. the lead/rhythm tandem of slash and izzy was as good as any i can think of.
