I visited the San Antonio Zoo today and took a bunch of pictures. Enjoy!

People were allowed to walk in here and the birds would land on them. Children were either thrilled or scared. Employees were bored.

I have often wondered what brand of special desperation those Japanese chicks are huffing to be willing to fill their asses with live eels and why no other culture has managed to concentrate desperation in such a great form.

great pictures, last time i went to a zoo was in mid-winter of maybe 2007. boston's got a phenomenal aquarium(affiliated with wood's hole, so duh) and a rather pitiful two zoos compared with say the bronx or d.c. one, i'm aware the san diego one is way up there.

anyhow, there's a line you can't uncross when it comes to some animals, has to do with guns and no fences at some prior point. obviously, the animals are canned and tame, but they sure look the same.
