I would like to compare and contrast the endless parade of sweat-stained shirts that appeared throughout the movie. Wahlberg trains...hard, the proof of which is his shirt. Bale parties...hard, the proof of which is his shirt. It's as if the director wanted to say that boxing and getting high are both labour intensive jobs.

Why would Bale willingly jump from the second story into the dumpster? Don't junkies throw out needles anytime?
