The Enron scandal was small potatoes compared to the events leading up to the crash of 2008, yet not one person has been criminally charged for their role in this financial crisis, while Lay, Skilling, Fastow et al each faced substantial prison terms. The Lords of Wall Street and High Finance so far have been powerful enough to remain above the law and to assure that whichever party is in power they have a friend at the head of the Department of the Treasury. Paulson out, Geithner in, meet the new boss, same as the old boss.
