I watched both matches last night. Few things come to mind:
1. How did the Bears ever get to that final?
2. Why is Hanie not the starting QB for the Bears? The other two were utter crap.
3. Green Bay's defense looks very solid.
4. NY Jets --> pitiful. Sanchez did not impress me one single second. The rest of the team was shyte as well.
5. Steelers are my pick for the SuperBowl. Experience counts.
1. Philadelphia shit the bed in the last couple of weeks to give the Bears the #2 seed which meant a first round bye and a home field game in the conference semis. That game ended up being against a 7-9 Seattle team that won the worst division in the history of the NFL. You can thank New Orleans for losing their defense somewhere in Seattle's airport for that.
2. You don't pay a quarterback what the Bears are paying Cutler to model the latest styles of playbooks and headsets on the sidelines during a game. Especially when you give up multiple first round draft choices to get him in the first place.
3. Yes they do.
4. I think the Jets put so much emotion into beating New England that they were drained before this game even started. Pittsburgh just plain dominated their defensive line from the onset of the game. The Jets defense had to be getting gassed after those first couple of drives by Pittsburgh.
5. I'm a bit surprised Green Bay is listed as 2.5 point favorites. I would have thought the Steelers would be 1 or 2 point favorites but I wouldn't put a dime on this game. It is too much of a coin flip. One of the most even Super Bowl matchups I can remember since those Steeler-Cowboy games in the 1970s.
