Yippee Philip Rivers ended his holdout. Personally I think the Chargers will get screwed again. I think Rivers will end up a bust. Even though Eli Manning really gave the Chargers little choice he will be leading the Giants to the playoffs in a few years while Rivers will probably be out of the league already or be stuck holding a clipboard on the sidelines as a backup. I have to give him credit for retiring early. Why risk a debilitating injury when you are already financially set and his glory days in football were back in college at Washington State.

Chargers would have been better off with Manning who should be better but I think Rivers will be damn good so everything should work out ( next year- not this season for rivers) This is the forum for sports, so it is rightly found here. What puzzles me is why the Swami hasn't found his way over here to post- I thought he loved sports and I would like to hear his take on some of these issues. The kid who was gonna start at QB then got himself hurt over the summer. So I hope it turns out alright though.

It is too bad that he is gonna be with such a shitty organization and if he doesn't throw the ball well right away, people might start to compare him to Ryan Leaf so early. Ryan Leaf's problem was that he had a bad attitude and it seemed that he didn't have much passion for the game. There were still questions concerning his ability even when he was drafted by the Chargers. Rivers will be lucky to have Tomlinson by his side to carry a big portion of this teams offence. I don't think he will put up great numbers right away, but like any good QB, it takes time and dedication to become a solid player. oh yeah, a good o-line helps also (hint hint) _________________________ "My Super Spin Punch is totally tough!"

I guess it will depend on how well Drew Brees does in the remaining pre season games. His career took a turn for the worse when he was replaced by Rob Johnson in that play-off game against the Titans aka Music city Miracle.
