It was the last day of his hearing/trial/whatever it's called when you plead guilty today. It's been on the news in Toronto all day.
The guy is apparently baffling because he doesn't fit any kind of established "profile".
Despite this guy being a crazy asshole I do think it was pretty good of him to just plead guilty and spare all those involved a trial.
They have released barely any of the evidence to the public but I guess there were hours of video of him sexually assaulting and murdering his 2 victims. As well as hundreds of still photographs. Out of something like 500 pictures (this is from memory, I could be wrong) only a dozen were released to the public. I can't help having a fascination with this kind of thing and I really hope the rest of the evidence leaks, but I doubt that it ever will.
A big deal is being made about preserving as much as possible about his crimes because people are already looking 25 years in the future to his parole hearings. He'll be 72 then.
Canada doesn't have very many criminals who get sentenced to 25 years in solitary.
