Which leads to a question a LOT of people are asking. IF AIM won't release the name of the positive performer what good is AIM?
What an idiot. There is a federal law by the name of HIPAA that forbids AIM from releasing the name of the HIV+ performer (assuming AIM did the test). Darren James taught AIM a very expensive lesson that HIPAA has teeth.
Anyone else who took over AIM's function would also fall under HIPAA rules.
HIPAA rules are so restrictive that if your sister/cousin/uncle, etc is in the hospital, and you call asking about them, or ask to speak to them on the phone, they are not legally allowed to even confirm that the person you're asking for is even in the hospital. Many will, but under HIPAA it's not legal to do so. So if the law is this restrictive, do you think AIM's medical staff or legal staff is going to let them release a public list? Not a chance.
HIPPa is enforced pretty stringently. For the fake lawyers out there: Can you sign a form to opt- out on HIPPA? In this case, to allow results to be given to specific entities, like the production company that's going to shoot your 50 parolee anal mudpie extravaganza later this week?
How does the AIM quarentine work, exactly? Mope tests +. Do they call all the member companies and say they have an unnamed + and let them do what they will? Or do they send a press release? Or what?
