In his announcement, he equates the lunacy of lefties thinking 9/11 was an inside job with people who think what Odumba is doing is socialism. Nice. He's triangulating. He's moderate because his leftism is between extreme leftism and conservativism. He's supposed to be "reasonable" and "rational" because he concedes a few small points, like that George W Bush isn't Hitler. It's funny, but Bush sounded a lot like Hitler on Stewart's show when he was still in office.
