I am a bass player myself, although I take it out of the case very infrequently these days. A lot of women and hipster posers choose the bass because they think it looks easier to play than guitar- lol (larger strings, fewer strings etc). I tried to teach several women to play years ago and they always ran into the same problem: their hands/fingers were not really strong enough and were too small. Good bass players have very strong hands. Steve Harris from Iron Maiden probably has a stonger grip than the big spooks in the NFL.
