As a member of Gays Against Porn, I would like to proclaim a general campaign against porn coming from within the GLBT community. Our objection to porn is based on the fact that porn distorts and deceives through its promotion of the bisexual double standard in movies that contain both genders. We are opposed to anyone and anybody who promotes porn and its associated double standard.
This means that we are against John Stagliano and his ilk, as well as any other actor, actress, pimp, slut, bimbo, attention whore etc etc.

John Stagliano is a nice, intelligent, soft-spoken, down-to-earth guy who is willing to spend time talking to fans even when he is on trial for his freedom and who spent a boatload of money to humiliate Federal prosecutors, which will make the Feds think long and hard before bringing criminal obscenity charges.

Actually J.B. the humiliation was so complete, at the hands of a conservative Republican judge who criticised them for short cuts and sloppiness, that IMO the Feds will be deterred from bringing future prosecutions unless they are willing to spend much more time and money to prove their case. Stagliano's lawyers have laid out a road map on how to defend this type of case, and this road map would be quite useful even to a public defender.

Please. They don't care much about wasting the public fisc for what amounts to a taxpayer-funded Get Out The Vote operation for the heartland. It's simply a matter of how much they can get away with losing. Next time, they'll go for smaller-fry.
Besides, if any case were to be called the roadmap, it would be U.S. v. Jeff Steward.

Good point J.B.. Alan Gelbard was a major factor for the defense of both cases, really excellent lawyering in both cases. The judge in the Stagliano trial entered judgments of acquittal on all counts at the close of the prosecution's case and described it as as "woeful".
