Conservatives lied to get to invade a sovergn country that posed no threat to us, when we needed to be fully engaged in the eradication of Al-Quida. Once our military took Bagdad and overwhelmed Saddam's army in a cakewalk, conservatives totally fucked up transitioning to a new administration. Totally fucked it up by relying solely on ideology. They wanted to establish a free market utopia in the Middle East, they even tried to seize and sell off government assets. That's as illegal as you can get.

So, here's what happens when you press your libertarian economic principles:

When it all fell flat and factories started being boarded up, potable water was not available, electricity was not available, medical care was not available, it wasn't safe to walk the streets, and all the people with any technical skills had fled the country, people revolted violently. It was easy for different factions to recruit fighters, and anarchy broke out. Because people who don't like government, were put in charge of building a government.

So, after 4000 of our soldiers dead, tens of thousands more forever handicapped, billions of dollars spent to put our economy in the dumpster, probably over 100,000 Iraqi lives lost and our standing in the eyes of the rest of the world trashed, finally, by sheer force of firepower and perseverance, we have managed to force enough short term stability to get the fuck out of there.

We wrecked Iraq, our Army, our economy, and our standing in the world.
