What sorta stuns me is the emphasis on so-called real whiteness is almost Coke Stevensonesque albeit in a roundabout way. White people are not really some unified force. I laugh when Anglo-Saxon types refer to some of the types of food that I prefer as "eastern European". Owning it is the best response.
