however, lets look at what im talking about and what you have. i gave a break down for what it would take to build a sucessful membership site with an affiliate program. all you have is a site that you sell your movies through. do you know anything about membership sites or how they run? how about affiliate programs? do you know what pps,ppj or cpc means? what you are doing is fine for what you want to spend. my budget is what i would charge someone to build them a profitable program. you want to do the work yourself, awesome, go on with your bad self. i would rather hire people who can do it better and faster. work smarter not harder.

Okay... that's valid... I agree. But as I mentioned before... I do this for the LOVE of the business, and for making these movies. Not to be just another number, fighting with the next guy, to be looked at. I suppose it's just two sides of the same coin... I'll live with it.

point is-what jojo's doing is putting together something to sell that has a bunch of components that realistically he could do himself if he wanted to but like building a house you pass off the hvac or whatever to people who do hvac all day.

the days where the "craft" was as important as getting the product out are dead. they kinda died because shit got complicated-you used to be the dude that made shoes or swords or whatever and it wasn't hard to manage every step of the process.

take the dell computer you might be using--dell made basically nothing in it but it doesn't matter. they managed to herd intel and a shitload of taiwanese and chinese factories into deals, wrangled with customs, marketed it, etc.

as biggie said, shit done changed-everything from accounting to records-keeping to janitors makes more sense for everyone but the biggest companies to hand over to someone else that has no learning-curve and a record of general competency.

back to the house thing--sub the shit someone else who does it for a living. know what you need them to do and pull it all together and get the smut site done.

LOL... I guess I'm more "old school" than "old school". Maybe a little too independent for my own good. My natural "instink" is to be frugal with the money. When I saw the numbers posted, I freaked out before actually considering that the whole website porn business is a whole different animal than just doing DVD's, which is what I do.

For whatever reason, ALL of that just went over my head until jojo pointed out many of the involved mechanics needed to actaully turn a coin in the webgame (of which I admitted that I didn't know jack or shit about). I was just focused on the $$$ figure alone and saving cash.
