I thought he teamed up with them in order to give him leverage on Stalin. Didn't work out since the Japs got their butts kicked in 1939 and Hitler decided to cut the Russians in on Poland to keep them off his back.
Himmler thought the Arabs were "whiter" than Slavs, whom they hated [but allied with Romania and Bulgaria anyway].
All the Japanese I knew weren't all that pale, but kind of tan. You'd never confuse their skin with a Swede's or even a Czech's.

Is "Star Blazers" considered anime?? I used to LOVE that show! It was on a Philly UHF channel when I was in college. I actually failed a class because they moved the play time and I stopped going. A time before DVR and even affordable VCRs.
The characters had the same big round eyes, but I think they were white people, at least the names were, except I think the battleship was the great big JAP one the US sank near the end of the war, the Yamato, which I always thought odd. So maybe they were Japs. Not sure if they make them all round eyed and white looking anyway.
