Creating a city within a city. The plan is to take over the casino and entertainment district, because of city government waste and mismanagement, while trying to make it a family vacation destination, like Vegas. With slot parlors at NY horse tracks, and table games and smoking in the PA ones, AC is on life support. This proposal won't change anything.
The potential sale of the Meadowlands racetrack will kill the horse industry in NJ. Without AC supplementing the purses, and slots never going to happen, there is no way for the track to compete w/NY, PA or DE. That will lead to more horse farms selling out and the spread of the McMansion Cancer. Big farms will atleast bring money. Someone with a 10 acre farm, whose town down zoned because of over building, is going to get fucked trying to sell. Rich people with money to burn on horses aren't going to race them at Freehold to win a ham sandwich.
NJ: Show us green and we'll either pave it or line our pockets with it.
