I'm more into the delis/cafes around town..IMO subway and quiznos meat taste fake & nasty ,I'm such a picky eater !!If I had to choose a "chain" sandwich shop I'd take togos,than quiznos than subway ..

I would spend more than the five dollars and take Quiznos (or Planet Sub) every time. I've only had two cases of food poisoning my entire life. One of them came from the first, last, and only Subway meatball sandwich I've ever eaten.

i have only one subway i will go too and the subs there are far superior than any other subway i have been to. i like to get the spicy italian with green pepper,spinach ,black olives, red onion and tomato on whole wheat. That is what makes it a great 5 dollar sub for me. But only at this place do they actually take the time to put on the proper amount of stuff. the owner is indian or some shit and he is always there and always remembers all his customers and is all "HELLO SIR HOW ARE YOU?" when you walk in.

quiznos never seems to look as good as the commercials.

My favorite Italian deli. The Dante's Inferno and the Abondanza are fantastic. I only eat there about every 2-3 months, because those sandwiches will kill a nigga quick. By half way through, you can almost feel your arteries hardening and your aorta clogging up w/ the fat from the prosciutto. Damn fucking tasty though.

For a roast beef hero, I go to a butcher shop that cooks there own. Eating sandwiches in Brooklyn ruined me for the mediocre stuff here in Jersey. Same with pizza.

I don't think that Italian places are the best. I agree that there is a good (small) number of Italian establishments that make excellent food, but most of them (95%) are rip-offs. "Best Pizza in the City", "Best Pizza in Town", "Best Pasta in the World", "Ingredients Fresh from Italy" (Cento from NJ) you heard them all. Recently I went to this place on Avenue U looking for High-Gluten Flour, and the woman sold me 5-lbs of flour for $15.00 that she got from 50-lbs bag that cost her $18.00 tops.

Nah, I don't really know any chicken joints. I had a fried twinkie at a Not Just Chicken that used to be on Ave U out past Ralph. It was alright, woulda been better if I had a glass of milk.

I don't like Quiznos. I liked their sammies but then I figured out that I am paying too much for too little. Their "toasted" subs always come out charred and the smell of it irritates me.

BTW, does Subway still does that thing where they put the garlic spread inside the bread and then they toast it? I remember ordering a sandwich at Subway and the guy that was after me inquired about it and the "sandwich artist" told him that they don't do it anymore and then the guy haggled and the "artist" finally took out the garlic spread jar from underneath the counter, applied it to the bread and toasted it.

This incident made me believe that this practice of garlic bread was a standard practice when subway used to do the "free sub stickers" before they canned the practice.
