She had claimed that a few guys put the date rape drug in her drink at the hotel bar she was staying out then taken to her room and raped. At the time this happened, date rape drugs were a hot topic in the news. I don't recall who the author was but there was a extensive article about how anytime a physical/sexual abuse issue became a hot topic Andrea would come out of the woodwork and claimed something similar happened to her. When the McMartin child sex abuse trials were going on and similar stories were major topics in the news (abductions, molestations) Andrea talked about being abused by a movie theater as a kid by an anonymous stranger. Same with domestic violence, all the sudden Andrea had a husband in Europe who had violently beat her. When prostitutes were turning up dead and the Meese commission was investigating the porn industry, Andrea said she was a prostitute. I don't know if any of it was ever verified and when a reporter would ask Andrea would claim she was being raped/abused all over again.

Something I always found ironic about Dworkin was that she had a good relationship with her father but loathed her mom.
