Aww man. Ivor has annoyed me the past couple days, but he hasn't done anything to be worth a banning. The only one hear he has even really argued with is Barry, and that was all contained in the one shitty AWOP thread. Every other time someone has tried to call him out, he ran and hid for a couple hours. Much like a dog that keeps jumping on you, after a smack in the mouth, he calms down. No need to ban the guy.

Keep in mind before questioning his ban that he registered in 2005. He knew exactly where he was headed when he started his posting binge.
Posters should get the boot when they admit to posting simply to raise their post count.

He wasn't the worst but all he did was fill the air with useless noise.

Ivor could have started one thread in the cage or even shitlist and just kept making new posts in that single thread to inflate his post count. Instead he intentionally spread the inane shit all over the board and kept making new threads.
I like busting people's balls as much as the next guy but at least put a nominal effort into focusing on one individual or a few specific people rather than just annoying the whole forum for the sake of padding your post count to get some bullshit title under your name.

I didn't open any of the twenty or so PMs you sent me overnight, nor will I open any in the future. I opened the first one since you had heretofore never send me improper communications, and opened the second merely to confirm my concerns. Whatever psychological conditions you or I may have inherited ought hardly be used as an excuse for harassment. I urge you to have a frank discussion with your therapist, including this little episode of PM "nightriding". If the other twenty attachments were at the same level of morbidity as the two that I opened, it would seem prudent to have your therapist probe into this type of behavior. Wish you the best of luck in resolving these issues, so that you can resume a more productive and satisfactory way of life. Spending the wee hours of the morning bombarding a person you don't know with hateful PMs and grotesque attachments is no way to spend one's life. I believe that you are capable of greater things, and urge you to place your confidence in Canada's fine mental health professionals. Good luck.

I have been distressed for years about the tendency amongst some providers to promise cures, and applaud your realism. OTOH taking a defeatist attitude can lead one to fulfill one's potential. Late night PM jihads are certainly indicative that something is amiss, after all it took me about fifteen seconds to delete the lot of them. Remember the old phrase "lost time is not found again"? I am coming to the conclusion that we are both wasting our time in this thread, and as long as you remain within some parameters of decency would be satisfied for you to have the last as well as the first word in this "exchange of views". Not really interested in perpetuating any hatefest. I am an old engine driver from the old school and view electronic messages as I do mail, and therefore respond negatively to spamming. The other party can explain his conduct or not as he sees fit. Gia Jordan banned me last year, I am not complaining, she had the power and exercised it, no BFD. Frankly, this whole thing is a tempest in a teapot and serves as a poor substitute for actual industry information, which seems to be on the rapid decline. I don't plan on perpetuating this teapot tempest, because I am begin to find the whole matter tedious and I would rather not get The Order of the Boot for a second time.

I wouldn't make any excuses for my posts, good, bad, or indifferent. Let folks think of them what they will. Last summer when I was padding my post count I cheerfully admitted as such, didn't see any great harm in it, someone with power saw it differently, so be it, I got over it, someday you might, too. Since you have seen fit to advise me, I will advise you of something, you ought to quit using your disability as a crutch and an excuse. Millions of people have the same disability. I have noticed that the CMIs who are stuck in the days programs and stuck on the short bus can't stop talking about their psychological disabilities. Others get on with life and get out of the psych rehab programs, and they are the ones who don't make excuses. Didn't Goethe once say, hammer or the anvil be? Think about it?

In response to your second post, memory loss would be within the province of a neurologist rather than a psychiatrist, and minor memory losses are considered part of the aging process and not worth the possible iatrogenic effects associated with pharmaceutical treatments. You really ought to take my word for it that the post to which I believe you are referring was posted by DJT/The Fatman, as the "pacification" emoticon was one of his "signature" moves. Or you could let the whole thing rest. That might be the healthiest approach.

The whole point is not to make excuses for things, not to dwell on minor things. Hasn't the cognitive-behavioral approach taken hold in Ontario yet? Or is treatment-noncompliance at the heart of the matter?
