I still have the Cure, New order, Erasure (aka "Your-Ace-Hole") Yaz, Depeche (ala)Mode, SpandauPsychedliceBalletFurs...and dont forget Flesh For Lulu... etc etc etc and all that other 80s Gothic-challenged, Electronica Psynthetic Psynthesizer Pshit reverberating in my head....it was all so self indulgently brooding and depressing, but the real issue for any intelligent young adult living and coming (and cumming) of age in the late 80s, sandwiched like lunchmeat between Big Hair Bands and Nirvana, was the fact that all the Heroin during this time period was so badly stepped on here in the USA....you have to remember, all those british bands had access to the good, pure, government issued smack available to addicts in the UK back then....[Sid_n_Nancy]God Save the Queen[/Sid_n_Nancy]

I have a bigger early '80s record collection than you do. No way was I dissing the best era of music ever. The Cure sucks.

btw: Nirvana was a good 5 years after all those records. And while the "new romantics" did have good H, the "college rock" bands had good crank. This gave way for stuff like Husker Du, REM, Replacements, DBs, Black Flag, Big Black, Pixies, Bad Brains, etc. This was before the word "alternative" was even applied to this music.
Hey, at least she didn't name her band Killing an Arab.

The Who were my lads when I reached adolescence. Pink Floyd was runner-up. Third place to the Boss, as I remember buying Bruce Springsteen's Greetings from Asbury Park, New Jersey back in the spring of '73.

hmmm. The Cure sucks and the 80's was the best decade in music? I have to say that I strongly disagree, The Cure fell off after Wild Mood Swings, and saying that the 80s was the best decade for music is like saying Charles in Charge was an indept sitcom with staying power. There was alot of good stuff to come of the 80's and alot of crap, as with any decade. Im not bashing your opinion Gia, just stating my view on it. There was alot of good stuff to come out of it, but it seemed to me that alot of music coming out in the 80's was definitely pigeonholed with the acception of very few artists who were trying to push the envelope. In comparison I would say that the 60's, 70's and even 90's were far more progressive as decades of music that were changing things as they went along. Which to me makes a better decade for music. I guess it all depends on which way you look at it and what your genre of choice may be. I like The Cure, Bauhaus, U2, Nitzer Ebb, Bad Brains, Paul Simon and other artist who werent so set on making top ten singles rather than expanding music, sonically. This thread is waayy off kilter here.

I would agree with you on the 60s and the 70s but the nineties sucked hairy goat balls. I couldn't name two albums after 1987 that I would want to take on a desert island with me.

If only the porn biz had more women like Riley. Usually I have to pick two out of four of the following, but not in her case: * Cute * Never did anal * Shamelessly shows off her butthole * Stuck around for a while and did many scenes I just know that she pissed off pervs and prudes alike with her turdcutter parade. But I'm weird enough to appreciate a girl like that.
