One of the first members of the Senate to warn us about the moronic fratboy cheerleader's reign of error and destruction has passed. The past ten years of his life were the ones during which he achieved true greatness. He will be remembered as being in the same class as Henry Clay, Black Dan Webster, Charles Sumner, Fighting Bob La Follette and his son Young Bob, Robert Wagner, Sr. Hugo Black, Alban Barkley, HST, JFK, LBJ, HHH, RFK, Wayne Morse, Ernest Greuning, Bill Fulbright, George McGovern, Bob Graham of Florida, Fighting Jim Webb of VA, and the current POTUS who is trying to clean up the mess left by the Cheney regency.

Yeah, who couldn't trust the government, they've always been forthright and transparent. They always work in the best interest of the people who elected them and never ever curry favor with special interests above the needs of their own constituents. That little thing of the President overstepping his legal authority to circumvent the constitution, who cares? That document is so old it just doesn't have any relevance any more.
We should all hand over our paychecks now so the government can decide exactly how much money it is appropriate for us to make. We need them to tell us weather we can be allowed to defend ourselves or our property, what kind of car we should be allowed to drive, or weather or not someone could even smoke a cigarette inside our own our homes. Thank you big government for micromanaging my life.

But what about the clown that tried to snuff Wallace in '72? Hinckley? Chapman? The guy that killed the My Sister Sam sidekick? The Manson girl that waved a gun at Ford? I'm not saying there's no such thing as politically based assassinations. Boothe was a perfect example, altho he certainly was also "look at me" mentality. The Puerto Ricans that tried to kill Truman were politically motivated, no doubt. But I'm sorry, most of the assassinations of political figures in this country have been lone nuts. Because that's what lone nuts do.
Now, just for fun, why don't you give us the names of Teabaggers who have popped a cap at a political figure. Just 5 names. It's a fairly big movements, so there must be at 5 who have resorted to violence. What are their names? If there aren't any, do you just know in your belly that they will? Is that Beckle and Oberman tell you? Or do you just know it? Is it an almost paranoid belief? I think we all know the answer, don't we?

Spare me the bullshit, Barry, there have been several would-be Oswalds scooped up by the Secret Service. I have personally seen Teabaggers on the cable TV news shows carrying firearms in proximity of the POTUS. IMO this POTUS is in grave danger from these loons.

Oh, by the way, for them to be a would- be Oswald, they have to be real threats. Not just some crank writing a letter. We've ALWAYS had those. The Secret Service scoops them up all the time. They have for years. It's a bigger gig than wearing sunglasses and earpieces.
I saw those same guys on the news. Douchebags all. No question about that. Were they detained too? I don't think they were, but I could be wrong. Some loop hole in the gun laws about open carrying versus concealed. At least as I recall it. Because it really bothered me (see previous post). Whatever side you're on, I think that kind of imagery (and let's face it...it was imagery) is damaging to the nation as a whole. We're not a fucking banana republic. We're the United Fucking States of America. And it better take a lot more than the shenanigans in DC at this point in history for us, as a group, to take up arms against each other. And if it's doesn't, then we deserve what we get.
