How exploitative and gratuitous is the title "Towelhead". The girl's background really doesn't have that much to do with the plot. The character could just as easily been have been Mexican, Hawaiian or something else. The word only comes up once or twice when other kids are teasing her but it's just incidental (doesn't mean anything). It would be like if I wrote a script about a black teenager that gets into hijinks and titled it "Spook" or "Porch Monkey".
