David Carradine began in the martial arts world
when he was selected to play Kwai Chang Caine in
the TV series KUNG FU. Initially, Bruce Lee also
auditioned for the role, but he was not so well
known personally by the powers that be. David Carradine
showed a fantasy Kung Fu invented in the series at the
time, but then took training from a Chinese Kungfu
teacher and improved his Kungfu. It is to the credit
of David Carradine that he finally studied Shaolin Kungfu
to a good level. He also taught his own students and
friends. He was killed in Thailand on turf debate by
hoodlums from a local mafia.
