I trained the single short stick close range system
of Filipino Stick/Blade/Empty Hand ESKRIMA under
a couple of famous guros from the 1970s. I have been
teaching since 1988, and also worked initially as
a computer tech, and then in L.A. in some video production
outfits. ESKRIMA is my main activity, although I taught
myself web design, video camera, video editing,
screenwriting, photoshop editing, etc.
I can meet with a small group of interested people
here if they like and we work out one day (daytime
preferred) and then maybe go for a small lunch or
juice, etc. It will be free so you can see what I have
to teach, and also see my method of teaching ( I am
very detailed and can teach person of any level ).
Did you see the attachment photo in the original post
of Ron Jeremy ? Ron Jeremy studied Si Lum Pai Kung Fu
in New York City in the early 70s and he also showcased
his Kung Fu in at least one movie, I think it was
one of the Johnny Wadd detective episodes with John C. Holmes, maybe Jade Pussycat or Tell Them Johnny Wadd
Is Here.
Earlier I worked as a contractor for Digital Playground
for a few months and showcased my close range fighting
techniques there. They were busy in the production of
PIRATES II. I once met Tommy Gunn and showed him some
Eskrima hand to hand also.
My own project is a storyline titled WEAPON MASTER TEACHER, which is about a prison escapee searching
for a gang of Asian women who run a business physically
located above a ancient Chinese treasure (buried under
the building) from the 1800s. I took the project and
was allowed to show it to a big studio but I declined
their offer which was really a way for them to own
everything. I can shoot this on my own using my friends,
since I am a editor myself, maybe for Cable TV network
sales.
In order to film Eskrima or Wing Chun which are
close quarter arts you have to put the camera at a height
45 degrees and look down so you can show the hand to
hand exchange between two fighters.
It is easy to study ESKRIMA which is a fencing art,
if you are a film maker. Because as a film-maker
you know how to hold a camera and also see things
in the room other people dont see (visual perception).
OK anyone intersted in meeting one day, let me know.
In case we begin the classes, the tuition is
same for the rich guy as well as the not so rich guy.
Usually it is $ 20 per 90 min.
