I did talk to my barber about using a straight razor and he said the same thing: that the ones that use disposable blades are much easier to maintain. But the other thing that he said, and other people have also said, is that the traditional blades are much better if you put the time in on conditioning the blade.

Even though you are probably correct, I could never buy anything that was inferior because I didn't want to do the work it took to use a superior product. I may someday try a straight razor, but not right now.


As far as the warm shaving cream, I'll let you know. Supposedly keeping the shaving mug partially submerged in hot water in your sink and mixing up the shaving cream with hot water is supposed to do the same thing as a fancy machine. I'll see if that is true or not.
