Obama needs to push hard for progressive changes, and start taking decisive action. He needs to start filling positions with competent people. Enough of being cozy with corporations and Republicans, he needs to do what is correct to move us forward.

This is what gets me. The whole time Bush was in office, I was sympathetic to Democratic complaints that so much of what he was doing was strictly partisan. And now that Democrats control the government, I hear all over the place them bitching that Obama's not being partisan enough.

When in reality, he just shoved through a bill that revamps 1/6th of our economy without a single Republican vote. And, the whole time, he's bitching the reason the bill is partisan is because there's not a single Republican in either the House or the Senate that will work with them. Come on! The guys in your own party didn't even want to vote for that stupid bill. You had to buy them off with backroom deals and make it clear what was going to happen to the party if they didn't vote for it.

Bush was highly partisan. But, at least he didn't blame his being like that on other people. Unadulterated hypocrisy.

This is why I'm liking Ron Wyden so much. He takes the most important ideas from both sides of the aisles and integrates them into one plan that he gets research for to show it will work. Nobody's going to like everything in his bills, but they'll have the stuff most important to most people. Why everyone in Washington isn't doing it like that is beyond me.
