Keep in mind that it may be a cumulative thing, not a response to just one incident. I'd hold off on too many judgments until Tony discusses it. Tony hasn't posted a lot recently and he's probably busy; informing curious XXXPT members may not be his top priority for a few days.

Based on what I see in the super-secret mod pages I think it's possible to hide an entire forum area like the Cage. The threads may still be in the database but not accessible to Users or Guests. Hiding it may be the quickest thing for Tony to do until he has time to delete troublesome threads.
