I found The Pacific's supporting characters very difficult to follow. At the end of the series I still couldn't remember the name of any one of them other than Bob Leckie, John Basilone, and Eugene Sledge (and Sledge only because I've been meaning to read his book). That's just poor writing. Band of Brothers' characterizations were far more robust and as a result, the series was far superior to The Pacific.

Band of Brothers will be a timeless classic, The Pacific just a footnote.
