I wonder if he's a steroid user. Back when I was younger and a gym rat the hardcore roid freaks all beat their GFs/wives. The worse ones were the guys who used roids and speed. Some of them used to brag about it in the gym while lifting. My theory was that they were impotent from the dope and the only way for them to feel like a man was to blame their significant other and lash out at them.
