As for getting in and out, often there's some strength but not enough control in the legs for walking. Also, unlike masturbating to porn, pushing a wheelchair can make for really strong arms - some of these guys can lift themselves directly into a car, then turn and fold the wheelchair into the space behind the driver's seat. You can get a permit for any condition that sufficiently limits your mobility. It may vary from state to state but my understanding is that you just have to get your doctor to submit the proper forms. _________________________

The guy in the wheelchair, on the other hand, probably has to have 3 feet minimum clearance on the side to get to his car door, fold up the wheelchair and put it behind the driver seat. That non-handicap spot 20 feet away won't work. A power wheelchair van needs eight feet of side clearance. (the problem is not getting out of the car to go in the bar; the problem is coming back out of the bar and having room to get back into the car, i.e., not having someone block them in while in the bar) There are people who will have trouble walking that extra 20 feet.
