English Woman Banned from Bars, Buying Alcohol in Entire Country
"Laura Hall has been banned from every single pub, club, liquor store and drinking establishment in the entire UK. Hall is the first person in history to be banned from buying or drinking alcohol in any establishment in England or Wales.
Hall, 20, was issued with a Drinking Ban Order, the first of its kind in English history.
Laura Hall, 20, was issued with a Drinking Banning Order - nicknamed Booze Asbos - which bars her from entering any pub, club, off-licence or bar.
The two-year order also bans Hall from buying alcohol at any other establishment or shop, carrying it in an unsealed container or drinking it in a public place. -Source: dailymail.co.uk
Police applied to magistrates for the ban when Hall was convicted of breaking an Asbo that was given for anti-social behavior due to drinking. Hall has been convicted of numerous public order offenses, and has been known to laugh off previous bans that have been issued. Hall hails from Bromsgrove, Worcestershire.
Hall will face a fine of £2,500 pounds if she breaks this latest nationwide ban. Police say the ban will help protect society from Hall's anti-social behavior that occurs when she's drinking.
Police say that they would rather try and rehabilitate Hall rather than put her in jail. Hall is also required to attend an alcohol misuse course, that if completed, would shorten the ban to only 12 months.
Some are skeptical of a nationwide ban, as it's unclear how police are expected to enforce the ban around the country."
