My preference would be for the people in the movie to never break the fourth wall and look directly at the camera. Some times it's ok if it's a POV flick, but most of the time it just looks ridiculous to me. Of course, that's just one person's opinion, worth what you pay for and all that.

I don't mind on the box covers much either way.
