There was a 5.2 in 1884 centered off of Rockaway Beach Queens. Also a 6.2 in Boston in 1755. And I remember the 4.0 in Ardsley in 1985 very well.The Northwest will never be as hit as hard as the West Coast, but it's not off the hook completely.

I live in SF and I think we're going to have one soon and it's going to be bad. I live in a crappy old building that's a total death trap, too. Hope I'm at work when it happens...
