Fitting for full sun or partial shade. Only needs to be mowed once a month. No, this is not my friend's yard. That chair thing is tacky.

That sounds all nice and well, but if the soil underneath is in bad condition, there won't grow much to mow anyway.

The soil is in great condition. I don't know shit about gardening, but it's pretty obvious that'd be the first thing you (or your holly randall-esque gardener friend) check out.

How is it with bugs?

St. Augustine grass may have drawbacks, but bare feet don't get gnawed off by every biting bug in the county as with some grasses.

If that is the stuff some people around here tried it looks good but its not soft like regular grass. You can't sit on it or walk on it in barefeet. The stuff is also invasive and is really tough on lawn care equipment.
