What is Star Factory Ent?

The Star Factory is a boutique style Public Relations firm. We handle the publicity of talent in the adult industry; we also are involved with a lot of different aspects of the business from organizing the logistics for trade shows, arranging personal appearances for talent and running red carpets for every event know to man. We are everywhere. We make sure our clients get seen and do what it takes to get them into the spotlight. We promote them, their websites, their projects; we are in the business of building stars. Keeping clients careers on track and giving them the direction needed to make the best possible choices for themselves.

How did you become a publicist to the adult community?

Stormy Daniels. Before there was the Star Factory, I had my blog, ContactPorn Stars. She was the first person in this business who recognized my abilities and invested herself into me. She was my first interview, my first on-set piece. As Contact Pornstars became more established, I began learning how publicists were doing things. It was about time I had met Mike Moz. At the time, as far as the talent was concerned, mainly only the contract girls had publicists. Moz and I saw the need to PR the independent talent so we got together and launched The Star Factory with Taryn Thomas. Soon after girls like Eva Angelina, Brooke Haven and Courtney Cummz reached out and hired us. Since then we have established ourselves as the guys to go to for PR in porn. We put ourselves out there and go full throttle.

What the typical workday for you?

My typical work day is anything but... What I mean by that is no two days are the same. One day I may be in front of the computer for 14 hours, the next I may be flying to South Beach, Miami for the EXXXOTICA expo or on the location in the middle of the Mojave for Adam & Eve¹s next movie. I take a lot of meetings with a lot of pornstars, a lot of phone calls, a lot of reading, typing. I¹m always moving forward.
 
Who are some of your clients?

We are very selective about who we work with. There are over a thousand girls in the business at any given time and we wonn't take on more then 10 clients. Because we only want to work with solid people, girls who are proactive and take their careers seriously.  We prefer to focus on the positive as opposed to spend our time doing "damage control".  Some of the people we are working with now are Dyanna Lauren, Dana DeArmond, Kimber James, Angela Aspen, Capri Cavalli and Tanya Tate. There are other also in different capacities like Veronica Rayne or Brooke Haven. Then we have events that we do, like every year we run the red carpet at the AVN and Xbiz Awards. We work internally with EXXXOTICA Miami and NJ shows, Tampa NightMoves, Houston's Quest Party to name a few...we are into a lot of things.

What do you want to achieve in your life?

What everyone wants, happiness and security. To attain those goals I have to branch out and strengthen the "Monstar" and "Star Factory" brands. I have a lot of plans most of which with that ultimate goal and to become self reliant.
 
Where would you like to be ten years from now?

Hopefully having a shorter work day! I love L.A. so I¹ll probably be here somewhere, maybe married and hopefully still surprising myself with my accomplishments. 

What is your philosophy in life?

"Keep. Moving. Forward." Pretty much sums it up. When things go wrong you can¹t dwell on them, conversely when things go right, you can¹t get caught up in your own hype. In hindsight, we have had our share of success. We are in a good spot and making moves to be in a phenomenal spot, but you gotta keep moving forward otherwise you¹re standing still and everyone will move past you. I wake up every day with the mindset that I am going to war against failure. I am not gunna lose and I bring the best every single fuckin day.

What is the funniest thing that ever happened to you at work?

There have been so many funny things that have happened; to single any one time out is hard. Some of my clients have been the funniest people you¹ll ever meet. Dana always makes me laugh, Eva was funny as hell. Taryn is too. There have been a lot of good times. Some people would say Moz and I are exact opposites.  He is the Felix to my Oscar but we bounce off each other very well and funny stuff is always happening.

List 10 things you cant live without and why?

My laptop. It's on 24/7. I need to be plugged in at all times. This is my life, this is my money, this is what puts food on my table. I need to be accessible and access all the tools at my disposal, for my clients, at all times. My phone. Same thing. Star Factory does not close. Trust me, clients have no problem hitting me up at 3am . You say name ten things I can¹t live without. That¹s pretty hard. Because they are just things¹ and at the end of the day I can live without things. It won¹t make or break me. I said I¹m a movie fanatic and have thousands of DVDs but if they disappeared tomorrow, so what? I have the memories of watching them. It¹s all good. Give me air to breathe, a couple of bucks in my pocket and a sharp looking suit and I¹m good to go. I like nice things, but I'll never be defined by possessions. I¹m me. Love it or fuck off-


 
Last time you wanted to Freak someone up?

Earlier this evening at dinner. There was also this girl at a party I wentto Monday night that I wanted to freak. I freaked her before, and wanted to freak her again.

Is it better to have quantity or quality?

Quality. Quality. Quality. It goes for everything. Professional and personal. I don¹t need an abundance of friends, the ones I have like Dan Davis and Moz or Courtney, Kimber, Angela or Stormy are quality. I don't need a thousand clients; I'd rather have ten solid ones. Ya dig?

Sexy to you is?

Confidence. I love a girl who knows who she is. But no Divas. I did that shit before and it was a living hell. LOL. I love smarts, too. That is SEXY. If you are monosyllabic, you are not the girl for me.  Sexy is someone who is comfortable in her own skin. Some shit I do may not be "cool" but fuck it, that¹s me. And that¹s what I think is sexy in a girl. Be your fuckin self.
 
What do you do for fun?

I like watching a movie. I mentioned I¹m a big movie fan with a couple thousands of DVDs, but right now I haven¹t too much time. I like Disneyland, I¹m a geek like that. Fun for me is being with friends, getting into trouble. And I have fun at what I do. I dig my job. I like the people I work with. When I think of Disneyland or movies, I go with my clients. I like my people.
 
Which would you rather have, 100 million dollars or true love?

The romantic in me would say true love in a heartbeat. But who knows if that even exist. I never had it. I want to believe it¹s out there but who knows. So for the time being I¹ll take the loot. I¹ll do it Scarface style "First you get the money, then you power and then you get the women." LOL

No, all my talents are out there. You just gotta look.
 
Are there any differences between Alex and Monstar?

Yes. There is defiantly a Batman/Bruce Wayne thing going on. Alexander Raymond is a professional publicist who knows how to speak with eloquence and grace, who wears a suit and can defuse situations. He is more stoic and is usually wearing dark sunglasses to hide the eyes. While the "Monstar" personality is known more as a rock n roll partier who talks like he stepped out of Shaft movie. More happy-go-lucky, fun, more open and friendly. Both sides are me, just kicked up a notch. Alex looks to take control of his surrounding and the situation, while Monstar is more like "Fuck it. Where the white women at?"



Who are you listening to on your Ipod besides the Freak Squad?

I'm a rocker. The name "Monstar" is kinda a cross of the two things I like, Horror movies and Glam Rock. I like 70's soul, too. But I'm pretty random, I¹ll listen to anything. You jump in my ride you may hear "Islands in the
Steam" or "Back in Black."

You're about to walk the green mile, what do you have as your last meal?

A box of Otter Pops and a pack of pop tarts. LOL Naw, I don¹t know probably a brontosaurus burger or something. I¹m more concerned with the last thing touching my mouth, and that would be lips of this beautiful girl I know.

What's your favorite thing to do on a Saturday night?

Trying something new. I mentioned my days are always different, so yeah my Saturday nights could be at a club, or movie premiere or going to an exhibit.
 
What's your favorite thing to do on a Sunday afternoon?

Plan for the week ahead. I don¹t fuck around.
 
Chocolate or Vanilla Brother

I like to mix it up and sometimes I like both at the same time.

If you were trying to pick up someone up how would you do it?

I don¹t pick anyone up. I let them come to me. That is not an ego thing, it¹s actually reversed. Sometimes it doesn¹t even cross my mind that the girl is even interested in me.  Until they make me aware. This just happened where a girl actually dug me but I was oblivious. I thought I didn¹t have chance because she was so fucking hot. But there she was.
 
Name 1 thing you miss about being a kid?

I miss the freedom of not caring. The most stressful thing I had to worry about as a kid was getting my homework done before it was time to watch Batman. I had a great childhood. In retrospect, and especially as an adult now. What my parents did was nothing short of amazing. I¹m in my 30's now, and where they were at, at the same time boggles my mind. I would love to have a marriage and a kid. But I'm obviously just not there just yet.

Name 1 thing you love about being an adult?

I¹m my own man. My success is my own, my failures are my own. No one can tell me what to do and I like that. I used to work for a place that drove my self-confidence into the ground and its taken years to get that back.
 
Name 1 thing not many people know about you?

I¹m single.
 
Good Food or good sex Good sex.

LOL for my last meal I said I'd have Otter Pops, food is not my forte. I'm content with eating whatever, but when I'm gunna get down, I want it to blow up like the Fourth of July.
 
What's your True opinion of The Freak Squad and Mr. Goodbar?

Solid cats. I have been down with the Freak Squad for awhile. They have been right by me. I appreciate everyone that gots me like that.
 
If you had one super power what would it be?

I wanted to say "Fly around the earth backwards and turn back time like Superman." To erase the hell that endured in my personal life that was called 2009, but fuck it. If it don¹t kill you it makes you stronger.  I would probably slow down time so I can do more.



If you can go back in time where would you go?      
       
If I¹m going to do it, I¹ll go back all the way to the creation of the universe. That must have been a party.
 
Who would you like to work with that you haven¹t already, In adult?

I really don¹t have a hit list of girls I wanna sign up. But, here are a few out there that I see on their game, and that¹s what I dig. I wanna work with girls who are committed to what they are doing. I¹d say Sandee Westgate, she has been around for a bit and still killin¹ it. Riley Steele, she has that Piranha 3D movie coming out, that¹s right up my alley. Kayden Kross, we worked a little bit on The 8th Day but that was for Adam & Eve. Penthouse girls Taylor Vixen, Veronica Ricci. I never really worked with Teagan even though I¹ve known the girl since we both started at the same time. Nina Mercedez. But honestly, I want to start branching out into mainstream entertainment. That is the direction I want to go in.

Any words of advice for Girls/Guys that are coming into the business

Be sure this is what you want to do. Seriously. You are going to put your body and mind and your family through a lot of tough times so be prepared. And if you can get past that, then you better be in it to win it. I have a motto "Whoever Has The Best Hustle Wins", live that shit.
