Horrid production values DO affect my feelings about a movie- I have seen some good stories crumble under bad acting, camera work and bad sets/makeup. Sometimes all the exterior things that are too poorly done can corrupt the best intentions of a good young director and writer with regard to ENJOYING a film. I am with Toe- I have enjoyed some smaller budgeted gems BUT I just want to escape reality and be entertained by a film. Big budgets and lots of explosions coupled with some good laughs usually do it for me. You are right Jamie there are quite a few big budget flops but IMO Sin City is definitely NOT one of them.
