When I watched Sin City in the theatre, I swear I feel asleep. It was alright, but just too hyped for nothing, and pre-screenings are always full of idiots that shout during ever scene they consider "cool". The only good thing about it was the casting of Mickey Rourke and Clive Owen. Apart from that it reads like a Hollywood party guest list.
Oh- and the reason why Rodriguez did those Spy Kids and Once Upon A Time is because it was in his contract.

Contract or no contract, he still could have made much better films than what he did. Once Upon A Time In Mexico was so beyond stupid that I found myself unable to watch it. It's like he had no idea when to pull back, which, if anything, shows that he's not mature enough to handle such large budgets. Watch the last twenty minutes of From Dusk Til Dawn (after Tarantino left the production) for another good example of his immaturity. As for that last Spy Kid movie, the 4th one, that Skarkboy and Lavagirl nonsense, I thought that he was already out of his contract at that point.

Oh ya, Mickey Rourke, forgot about him. He's the man! I loved Clive Owen in Bent but he has become just another Hollywood face taking any shit part that pays his salary, and I predict that interest in him will wane with his age.
