There's a whole lotta wrong with this fairytale.
A month and a half vacation? That's pretty nice for a shot out PW.
The house sitter cleaned out the place? If it's obvious who did it, why not inform the police and have them arrest the house sitter?
Approx. 15 armed robberies a month and you decide to move to that neighbourhood? OK.
