How does everybody keep track of all the DVDs that you have, there are a lot of good methods out there. I use three: 1.) DVD PRofiler- you have to download the software but at least you can use it offline. http://www.intervocative.com/Downloads.aspx2.) DVDAficianado- a good online collection site http://www.dvdaficionado.com/index.htmland 3.)DVDSpot another online collection site that I just started using http://www.dvdspot.com/Just thought I 'd see if you guys use anything different- I know a lot of people like guzzlefish but I haven't tried it yet. Also, I wanted to let people know what collection managers are available for use.

Nice shelving units though because if you run out of room they look like you could go 2 rows deep on them like I Do.

First row (second, cause the first first is repeated): Disney, animation, science-fiction. Last row: more science-fiction. Far right: asian stuff.

I don´t want to, I want to trade ´em for single-row racks cause they take too much space.
My 29´ TV. It´s not flat screen, but it plays NTSC and european PAL movies perfectly.
Middle: comic book adaptations (Superman, Batman, Spider-Man, Conan, Hellboy, etc) and super-hero movies (Unbreakable, Mystery Men, The Specials).
Left: The Godfather box set, Robocop collection (including the Criterion edition), Coffin Joe box set, Back to the Future box set, and some Godzilla stuff at the very bottom.
Right: The Alien Quadrilogy box set plus Alien Legacy and the original releases of Alien and Aliens (different extras). Nightmare on Elm Street box set, Mad Mission box set, Indiana Jones box set.

I wrote my own DB program to keep track.
It's just a simple thing that allows me to search by performer and/or title.

Dammit, I want to read the spines but can't see 'em, see if you had an online collection I could see what you had.
Some are the brazilian editions. I have HULK with all the extras from the R1 AND DTS sound, League of Extraordinary Gentleman with all the extras, DTS sound AND a lot of trailers, and Back to the Future with DTS sound.

Why did you write your own program? Didn't like any of the others? I was using databases for other types of collections until I ran into DVDprofiler and then the other two- I like having the cover scans and info already available without having to put it in ( plus they are free so no complaints )

Because it took me five minutes to do, and I didn't know about any others.
I might try some of the online ones if they have any features that catch my eye.

What region are you in Smartt? and it is not pal right? Do you get the new releases on tuesdays fron US distributors or do you wait for the local releases of American movies.
Region 4, NTSC. Biggest releases from big studios are usually released simultaneously (Indiana Jones, Alien Quadrilogy, LOTR), or even some days before (Spider-Man, Back to the Future), and even YEARS before (like the Predator special edition and the Robocop box set).

You bastard you bought the Universal Monsters collection with the Busts too.
But of course!

Well fuck!
I just registered at DVD Spot, and they don't have any of the porn movies I tried. I even tried some more mainstream pornos.
So, I guess that is why I wrote my own. I got it so I could search through my own collection of porn by performer and/or title.
Is there another online DVD DB that has porn titles included in their choices? It would be a pain to try to add all of my porn titles to DVD Spot, which I'm not sure is possible anyway.

Yeah, i was referring more to Mainstream dvds because I don't put my porn dvds into the databases in case i want to show people my collections. I know dvd profiler allows for porn but I don't know how many people contribute to the porn profiles. In other words you could put your new jM prod. dvds ISBN #'s into the program and if no one else has put it in already you have to do all the work. With mainstream flicks they are up to date usually (DVD spot may be newer too because I just joined there myself- I liked the layout and stats).

Because part of the beauty of online collections like those of DVDaficianado is that I can post a link or tell you that my name is DVDx and you can go check out my collection. And I wouldn't want most people to know what porn I own. I would tell you guys my titles but my relatives and friends might not "get"it
