That's another good example - they wouldn't have known what kind of lunar surface to fake and would likely not have guessed so little dust or so hard a surface.

And the lunar dust returned is more evidence. Nobody has been able to make anything that abrasive, let alone fake the chemical composition and isotope ratios. They've been trying to manufacture lunar dust too since they need it to figure out how to make a spacesuit for any future moon mission that can be used more than a few days on the lunar surface.
