First episodes of Rome were really good, then there were several "soap opera"-style episodes I don't care about and then rushed finish. I mean last few episodes were simply ridiculous, an important character died every 10 minutes, they were obviously in a rush to somehow close the story in in extremely limited time after the producers found out that there won't be anymore series.

I've seen only the first episode of Spartacus but so far I like it. It's good for what it is plus there are boobs of course. But I hate that they had to include American-style forced diversity. Negroes as Roman citizens, lol.

It's based on Historical events so there's no way around Anthony & Cleopatra's deaths. The death of Lucius Vorenus gave depth to his reconciliation with his estranged children so didn't seem out of place to me...Servilia had no reason to live after the death of Brutus as the house of the Junii died with him being the last son and she'd lost her status amongst the Patrician famalies, death was the only option...what were the other deaths?

It was never clear that Lucius Vorenus died. Of course that is the story that Pullo gave to Octavian, as Octavian was more than a little unhappy that Vorenus was loyal to Anthony until the end.

In reality, it was Octavian's mother who died only a short time after Anthony died. Servilia lived to a very old age.
