Personally, I've always been into message boards. They're online communities. I've been on message boards since 97, maybe even before, like when they were .alts. Being without a message board is like being without a home.

AGREED on Monks. He's the soul. And the soleil. But I think they DO take him seriously. And they GET when he's irreverent. Either way, he's held universally in high regard here because his observations are spot-on even when in jest. And as a writer, he's fucking untouchable. Team Monks.

I feel that's the job description in a nutshell. Memory retention for finding long lost threads/pics to call people on their shit doesn't hurt either. I don't believe in mod= referee. I don't believe in breaking up stick fights or being the great neutralizer (cue 'looks like a penis pump feels like a sneaker' song. Oh shit, that was Naturalizer. Eh. I feel people can sort shit out themselves and arguments are the natural ebb and flow of message boards in general anyway.
