You don't think putting more emphasis on the regular season than a play-off system would makes the regular season more intense and makes the great college football rivalries more intense? I basically just think ESPN bitching about the BCS is them needing some controversy to fill the 24/7 they are on the air. Unfortunately, to me, it seems like they've convinced most of the sports fans I talk to. Actually, I vaguely remember interviews with a few coaches who'd prefer a playoff system as well.
