My entirely too young cousin got married to a guy who had kids from a previous marriage. The kids would come to visit them and in preparation for her trying to be a great step-mom, she bought them a couple of hamsters as a gift.

The kids don't live with my cousin and her, now, husband. So, somehow the hamsters ended up at my Aunt's (cousin's Mom's) house. So, the Aunt goes out of town for a couple of weeks and the new husband is supposed to stop by every day to feed the hamsters.

About a month later, he tells us he never fed the hamsters because they are a pain in the ass he was hoping they would die! We all just laughed and stopped feeding the hamsters too.

I don't know why they didn't die after a couple of months of that. Maybe my cousin was still feeding them? But, I know from first hand experience that they went without food for at least few days on more than occasion from visiting.

You'd ask the housekeeper about the hamsters and it was a sensitive subject. She'd just be like, "I don't know anything about the hamsters!"

About six months later my Aunt went crazy and started reeking all kinds of havoc in the family. So, I have no idea where those hamsters are now. Hopefully they've moved on to a better place.
