Are videos stores dying in your area?

To answer your question, yeah, video stores in my area are dying and almost gone, although Blockbuster is still out there. I think they are about to fold up shop as well.

On the other hand, Netflix seems to be fucking everywhere and whenever I go to the grocery store I keep seeing these fuckers everywhere:



If not that particular brand, its red and rents DVD's.

So stores are dead/dying, but rentals appear to be doing just fine.

There are two "Hollywood Video" stores within easy walking distance of me. Blockbuster "media" is about 1.5 miles away.

Haven't rented from a store since maybe 1996 ... could be 1995. Never rented a DVD from a store, only NetFlix [2001-2], which was fine when the disk worked. But, the was a rare occurrence.

To be honest, if I wanted a rental now, I'd just dl the thing. At least the scratched disk skipping all the time would be avoided.
