Since I'm a Met fan, it might surprise you to know that Bernie Williams was one of my favorite baseball players. I have no idea why Steinbrenner hated him. 51 was a humble mix of clutch and class.


Don't care for Pettitte. Nothing to do with baseball or the Yankees or steroids. I don't care for him personally. I know 3 separate waitresses [1 a relative] in 3 different restaurants [2 NY, 1 NJ] whom he stiffed badly. I had no idea that the derivation of his name came from the French for "small tips".

Anyway, I find cheating wait staff distasteful. So, the steroid stuff is just a means to pound him for his more private "sins".
