I find the recent undertone disclaimers from the Red Cross humorous ... give to the Red Cross to help in Haiti "and other disasters".

Years ago, the united way was busted by 60 minutes or some similar outfit. Execs doing $100 lunches, riding around in limos, expensing shows, etc... The report determined that only 10% of any donation made into any kind of aid or relief. The rest was o/h and expenses.

I don't trust charities. Only ones I give to are Poker Run for Little ****** with cancer or kidney problems. There is something where you know most of the $$ is going to where its supposed to. I don't even like buying stuff from my nephews for Cub Scouts or sports teams. I don't want to spend $30 (which they get 1/2 or less) for a handful of popcorn. Here's $30, go have fun.

This Wyclef Jean sounds like a smart guy. In these recession times, you gotta be imaginative to make some bucks.

It was then either the first or second one where I collected a bunch of cash from my neighbors in Luna Park Buildings #5 & #1. My dad actually drove me to the NYC studio where Jerry was and was among a throng of kids that had collected cash in large coffee cans. Mine was stuffed with money, mostly change but quite a few bills almost all $1.
