I would like to preface this by stating I'm not an Olbermann fan. I'd just like to observe people's responses to this:

Olbermann, Limbaugh, Robertson. A Trifecta in Hell.

How is that any less of a hateful statement than Limbaugh and Robertson made? My thoughts: Pot meet kettle.

There is a reason why ESPN fired Olbermann, and why none of his coworkers objected.

i will always respect him for being the first and only one in the major media who called bullshit on the failed BushCorp administration so early on. i think he is much more intelligent and well spoken than Rush. He is pompous tho and that whole comment thing makes me want to poke myself in the eye with a flagpole sometimes. Since cancelling cable i haven't really watched him...i could stream him but i find it is better not following the details of modern american politics.

BTW isnt Sean Hannity supposed to waterboard himself for charity? He promised to but hasn't followed through on it yet. I bet Keith would have if he made such an insane promise.

I like what he did with the free health clinic things too...that was all right before i stopped watching tho.

Instead of donating to the Wyclefs of the world I want to start a text drive to get Elabo back into cable status. The fact that he's not hooked up just hurts my heart way more than any third world shithole could.

I equally despise Limbaugh, Beck and Hannity, whom my husband LOVES (with the exception of Hannity, because even he can see beyond his ultra conservative slant what a enormous colostomy bag Hannity is).

However, and it kills me to say this, but I had absolutely no problem with this particular clip. Simply because I was pretty enraged by what Robertson and Limbaugh said, and I realize how nonacademic that sounds. Especially Rush. That motherfucker is a pariah, who will do anything to divide Americans further.

I try and remember that these people are entertainers, nothing more. They are not journalists, they are not whatever the fuck an "analyst" or a "pundit" is. They are entertainers, and therefore to be respected on the same level as Lady Gaga.

This is why I am an independent, and no longer a journalist. Well actually, the pay is why I'm no longer a journalist. Oops.

Arguing talking heads is twice as pointless as arguing the politics they yap about. I don't seem to take Olberman to seriously as a news guy for 2 reasons. 1) He's an ESPN guy. 2) He goes for laughs too much. If you took one of those 2 factors out of it, then maybe.

I didn't click the link, but I can say with assurance that while Olbermann is a supreme douche he can, like so many other polarizing infotainment acts of these times, play it to the hilt to great effect, ratings, and personal revenue.
