I used to subscribe to the theory that guys that worked both sides make it riskier. I fed into that reasoning because of what everyone else had to say and also because I feared homosexuality because I don't understand it. It makes people feel better when they have a scapegoat for the things that they don't like.
Looking back over the time I spent in porn the real truth about possible exposure to H.I.V is that you never know what anyone has done between the time that AIM clears them and the moment that you work with them. During my time in porn, pimps all the sudden became agents...Girls right off the track became "actresses". Agents became pimps. Actresses went straight from the set to do privates. I have seen a couple outbreaks. They involved straight performers each time. It's interesting.You would think people who perform in gay and straight make it more dangerous. Truth is, I never seen any facts to back that up. I also never hear anybody getting upset about the very same chick who won't work with Christian(for example)will do a private with a guy who has not been tested and then show up on set the next day and show me a test that says she was clean a week ago.
Even more foul than any of that are the motherfuckers who shall remain nameless(you know who you are.. and that I know who you are) who continued to work by using deception or taking advantage of those who don't know while on quarantine lists. I despise them enough that I want to name them but I am better than that.
My truth today is simple. If you choose to be a performer you need to know that every scene is another chance to be exposed to H.I.V. Don't ever lie to yourself about that. The AIM is a great thing and would alert you to an outbreak and minimize that outbreak AFTER it happens. If you think that that piece of paper that someone shows you before a scene means that you are safe, you are in the wrong line of work.
