It seems like there is some serious reevaluation of disaster relief logistics that needs to be done. In a poor country with poor infrastructure, arriving with gigantic ships and planes isn't going to cut it. If Haitians can build rafts and paddle all the way to Florida, then we ought to be able to get them food and medicine in under 3 days. Especially when there's a naval base less than 200 fucking miles away.

I don't expect the warm n' fuzzies from this board, but it's a small step to feel compassion when you look at images like this
